DHI method

The DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) hair transplant method is a state-of-the-art technique defined by international standards set by the DHI Academy in London. Exclusively practiced at Maison Lutétia in Paris and in the United Arab Emirates, the DHI method represents the most advanced and reliable approach available today for both men and women experiencing hair loss.

At Maison Lutétia, the DHI hair transplant technique involves the manual extraction of hair follicles from the "Hippocratic crown," an area where hair is genetically programmed to remain permanently. The follicles are extracted one by one from the donor area and meticulously implanted into the bald or thinning areas, following the natural orientation and density of the patient’s original hair. This meticulous approach ensures that the results of the DHI hair transplant are virtually undetectable.

Our hair and follicle system experts are physicians specifically trained in the DHI method. They also apply our excellence protocol to eyebrow transplants and beard grafts in Paris at Maison Lutétia, working in collaboration with expert visagists, dermographers, and barbers.

In the weeks following the implantation, the existing hairs in the grafts will naturally fall out, making way for new hair growth starting from the third month. After 6 months, the density of the new hair begins to become visible. However, it takes up to 12 months to see the anticipated results and 18 months for the final outcome.

The result of a DHI hair transplant is permanent, and any trace of the procedure is undetectable.

While the DHI hair transplant does not stop hair loss, it manages it. Hair loss will continue to progress, and native hairs destined to fall will eventually shed, unlike the implanted grafts from the stable donor area. Sometimes, it may be necessary to consider a new hair transplant when the donor area allows to re-densify areas that continue to thin.

It is recommended to use Minoxidil (Alostil) to slow down hair loss. At Maison Lutétia Paris, our hair experts offer treatments such as MésoLED to regenerate the hair ecosystem.
